History of
Madilgekar's Art Studio
Founded in the late 19th century by Late Shri Balawantrao Govind Madilgekar, Madilgekar's began as a humble atelier dedicated to the sacred art of idol and statue making. His mastery of traditional sculpting techniques laid the foundation for a rich legacy rooted in Indian culture, devotion, and craftsmanship, which was later elevated to national prominence by Late Shri Rajarambapu Balawantrao Madilgekar—a renowned sculptor admired by icons like Mahatma Gandhi, B. R. Ambedkar, and Jawaharlal Nehru.
Carried forward by generations of skilled artisans, the legacy continues today under Shri Balraj Suresh Madilgekar, blending time-honored techniques with modern innovation. From busts and monumental statues to city beautification projects and diverse material craftsmanship, every creation reflects a commitment to excellence, precision, and a heritage that has endured for over a century.
